Peacefully, at Limestone Ridge on March 25, 2025 Irene Lemmitty Hamalainen passed away . Dear mother of Margit Anne Bell and Arja Elisabet Hamalainen. Predeceased in March 2014 by her husband of 68 years, Hugo Olavi Hamalainen and infant son Mauri Olavi in 1951.

Sadly missed by Arja and Margit and cherished grandchildren John Caley, and Jeremy, Justin, Rachel, and Tessa Bell. Always remembered by Jim Bell.  Survived also by two great grandchildren, Octavia and Max and extended family in Finland.

Family and friends are welcome to the Robert J. Reid Funeral Home “the Chapel on the Corner”, 309 Johnson St., Kingston, for a visitation on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 11am to 12pm with the Funeral Service held at 12 noon in the Chapel. Reception to follow.  Burial at Cataraqui Cemetery.

Grateful thanks to the staff of North Wing at Extendicare who cared for mom with compassion for 16 years. Special mention to Donalda and Jeff.
