The Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.

Why should I donate to The Rotary Foundation?

Your donation makes a difference to those who need our help most. More than 90 percent of donations go directly to supporting our service projects around the world.

How does The Rotary Foundation use donations?

Our 35,000 clubs carry out sustainable service projects that support our six causes. With donations like yours, we’ve wiped out 99.9 percent of all polio cases. Your donation also trains future peacemakers, supports clean water, and strengthens local economies.

What impact can one donation have?

It can save a life. A child can be protected from polio with as little as 60 cents. Our partners make your donation go even further. For every $1 Rotary commits to polio eradication, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $2.

How much of the donation goes towards the programs?

91% of donations are directly spent on programs. The Rotary Foundation has achieved a 4 star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest rating possible.

Paul Harris Fellows

Rotary members who contribute a minimum of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation are recognized as Paul Harris Fellows.

The Kingston-Frontenac club is proud of our annual contribution to the Rotary Foundation, both as a club from operating budgets and by the large number of individual members recognized as Paul Harris Fellows.

Fundraising

In addition to annual contributions, Kingston-Frontenac also hosts fundraising events to support the Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation Walk is one example of an event held every year in our District to support the Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation Walk 2020 in Kingston, held at the Lemoine Point Conservation Area, raised $1100 for the Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation Walk for District 7040 was scheduled for Saturday, 9 May 2020 in Canton, New York. But due to the social distancing restrictions, the walk was not permitted. However, a small but dedicated group of Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Kingston-Frontenac braved the cold weather and participated in a small groups (no more than four) walk at the Lemoine Point Conservation Area in Kingston. A total of $1100 was raised for the Rotary Foundation that day. Thank you for the walkers and supporters for making this possible in these difficult circumstances.

Kingston-Frontenac Rotary Club was the host of District 7040 Foundation walk in 2018 and again in 2019

The District 7040 2018 Foundation walk was hosted by the Kingston Frontenac Rotary Club. Many thanks to Rotarian Murray Matheson who masterfully set up this event.

The Kingston-Frontenac Rotary Club hosted the District 7040 Foundation Walk in Kingston on May 11 2019. 62 Rotarians and Friends of Rotary participated. Big thank you to Vincent, Marc, Susan and Peter of the Kingston Historical Society who were stationed along the route to provide historical interpretation. Particular mention goes to Paul Van Nest of the Kingston Rotary Club for planning the route, tops and arranging the volunteers for the second year in a row. Kingston-Frontenac Rotarian Murray Matheson skilfully organized this event. Thank you again Murray! In total, 17 clubs raised over $11,000 for the Foundation.
