Having just received this message from DG Pardeep earlier today, I wanted to let you all know about the sudden change in plans for next week. As you see in the updated Events and below, the DG Visit originally scheduled for next Wednesday, February 21 needs to be rescheduled, so Food Packing will go forward as originally planned.
In addition to this Special Edition of Rota-Teller, you will receive an e-invitation for the Food Packing next Wednesday. Please take a moment indicate your attendance by Registering (or Declining) so M-C has an idea of how many to expect.
Please look forward to the next regularly scheduled issue of Rota-Teller on Leap Year Day (February 29).
Wishing DG Pardeep a speedy recovery and a happy long Family Day weekend to you all.
Peter
MESSAGE FROM DG PARDEEP:
Colleagues,
I must regretfully cancel the planned District Governor visits to the Montreal area and to the Kingston area next week.
This follows from an accident I suffered while in Colombia last week, in which I fell about 1m from a rural tourist bus ("chiva") to the ground. This resulted in a significant soft-tissue injury to my back, which I am still managing. I have been advised to limit any trips to short-distance (local) ones, to help reduce the possibility of further aggravating my injury.
I am sorry that I will not be able to visit with you next week, but hope we might be able to find a future opportunity.
