and here is his story:

I hope you can remember me. I did a presentation to your club a few years ago via zoom.

Just needed to share this with you and see if your club would be interested in supporting this campaign

Our Club is doing a medical camp organised by Rotarian Doctors in our club to provide ant worm medicine to public school kids here who otherwise would not afford to buy the tablets. The tablets cost $2 per child and they are given enough for the entire year.

Data from Tanzania indicates that 60 to 80 percent of school children are infected with worms. In the rural area where we want to do this deworming project, we have interviewed school kids and their teachers .It appears that the majority of the kids never took ant worms tablets since they were born.

Most of these kids are from the maasai tribe. We do medical camps, once we have the ant worm tablets and have our Rotarian doctors distribute them. We also screen and test them to see if they have other challenges, measuring  their weights ,a single eye test to detect early refractive errors and  risk of eye diseases, oral inspections and oral hygiene education .

Any donation from your club or from an individual person will impact few or several kids in the rural areas of Tanzania with ant worm tablets. Currently we are working on 10 schools ,each school has approximately 600 to 700 kids.

We have covered two schools and if we get the tablets the doctors will continue to the next schools.
